英文面試：面試官會問什麼、怎麼回答

英文面試最常被問的問題有哪些？

英文面試通常從 Could you tell me a little about yourself?（請簡單介紹一下你自己）開始，接著問你的經歷、優點和缺點、為什麼想來這家公司、五年後的規劃，最後常以 Do you have any questions for us?（你有什麼問題想問我們嗎？）結束。每一題都有常見的回答方式，先準備好幾句，面試時就不會只能臨場翻譯。

標「聽」的是面試官會說的話，標「說」的是你可以照著說的回答；✗ 是常見的錯誤說法，△ 是聽得懂但不自然的說法。點英文旁邊的按鈕，可以聽發音。

  說I enjoy my job, but I'm looking for a position with more responsibility.

  我喜歡我的工作，但我在找一個責任更大的職位。

  說That's why I'm very interested in this opportunity.

  這就是我對這個機會很有興趣的原因。

  ✗I'm very interesting in this job.

  這一題不是要你把履歷從頭念一遍，照「過去、現在、為什麼來」三段說，一分鐘左右就好。「從某所學校畢業」是 graduated from，from 不能省略。人「感興趣」是 interested，interesting 是「有趣的」，說成 I'm interesting in… 意思會變成「我很有趣」。

怎麼用英文說自己的工作經歷？

一直做到現在的工作用 I've been working in… for…，例如 I've been working in sales for three years.（我做業務三年了）；以前的工作用過去式，例如 Before that, I worked as…。

  說I've been working in sales for about three years.

  我做業務大約三年了。

  說Before that, I worked as a customer service assistant at a hotel in Taipei.

  在那之前，我在台北一家飯店當客服助理。

  說In my last job, I was responsible for training new employees.

  在上一份工作，我負責訓練新進員工。

  說I've worked with customers from many different countries.

  我跟很多不同國家的客戶合作過。

  be responsible for 是「負責…」，後面接名詞或 -ing：responsible for training new employees。

• 中文直翻最常錯的地方

  ✗I work in sales three years.

  ✗I've been working in sales since three years.

  ✓I've been working in sales for three years.

  我做業務三年了。

  中文的「做了三年」沒有時態變化，英文要用 have been + -ing 表示「一直做到現在」。for 後面接一段時間（for three years），since 後面接起點（since last year）。

  回答範例

  說For about five years.

  大概五年了。

  在語言交換或聚會上被問做多久了，短答 For about five years.（大概五年了）就很自然，面試時再用完整的句子說。

被問 What's your greatest strength? 怎麼回答

說優點用 My greatest strength is that…，後面再加上這個優點帶來的好處，例如 …so I rarely miss a deadline.（所以我很少錯過截止日），比只說 I'm hardworking. 有說服力得多。

  我擅長說英文。

  good at 後面接名詞或 -ing（good at solving problems），前面的 I'm 也不能漏掉。

• 說缺點

  說One of my weaknesses is that I sometimes spend too much time on small details.

  我的缺點之一是有時候會在小細節上花太多時間。

  說I'm working on it by setting a time limit for each task.

  我正在改進，方法是替每件工作設定時間限制。

  說I used to be nervous about public speaking, but I've improved a lot.

  我以前很怕公開演講，但我已經進步很多了。

  ✗One of my weakness is that I sometimes talk too fast.

  ✓One of my weaknesses is that I sometimes talk too fast.

  我的缺點之一是有時候說話太快。

  挑一個真實、但不影響這份工作的缺點，再說你怎麼改進。one of my 後面一定接複數：one of my weaknesses。中文沒有複數，這裡最容易漏掉 -es。

為什麼想來我們公司？五年後有什麼規劃？

被問 Why do you want to work for our company?，就談這家公司吸引你的地方和你想學的東西；被問 Where do you see yourself in five years?，用 I hope to… 說你想做到的事。只說「離家近」或「薪水比較好」，聽起來就像隨便找一份工作。

  說I really like your products, and I want to grow with a company that values new ideas.

  我在貴公司的網站上看到，你們要在台中開新的辦公室。

  提一件你真的查過的公司消息，例如官網上的新據點或新產品，會讓回答不像背好的套話。

• 五年後：Where do you see yourself in five years?

  聽Where do you see yourself in five years?

  你覺得五年後的自己會在哪裡？（五年後有什麼規劃？）

  回答範例

  說In five years, I hope to lead a small team and take on bigger projects.

  五年後，我希望能帶領一個小團隊，負責更大的專案。

  說I don't just want a job; I want a place where I can keep growing.

  我要的不只是一份工作，而是一個能繼續成長的地方。

  ✗Where do you see yourself after five years?

  「五年後」是 in five years（從現在起五年後），不要照中文說成 after five years。take on 是「承擔（更多工作）」。

被要求舉例：Can you give me an example?

面試官要你舉例時，講一個具體的小故事，照「情況、你做了什麼、結果」三步說，例如 Last year, I was in charge of a project with a very tight deadline.（去年，我負責一個期限非常緊的專案）。

  說Last year, I was in charge of a project with a very tight deadline.

  說As a result, we increased online sales by twenty percent.

  結果，我們的網路銷售成長了百分之二十。

  說I'm proud of it because the whole team worked really hard.

  be in charge of 是「負責、主導」。「增加了多少」用 by：increased by twenty percent。ahead of schedule 是「比預定提早」。

面試最後被問 Do you have any questions for us? 怎麼辦

面試官問 Do you have any questions for us?，最好準備一兩個跟工作和團隊有關的問題，例如 What does a typical day look like for this position?（這個職位平常的一天大概是什麼樣子？）。只回答 No. 聽起來像對這份工作沒興趣。

  △No.像沒興趣

  真的沒有問題，也不要說 No, I don't have.（文法不對，聽起來也很冷淡），可以說 I think you've answered all my questions.（我想您已經回答了我所有的問題）。

英文面試怎麼問薪水和福利？

問薪水要客氣，說 Could you tell me the salary range for this position?（請問這個職位的薪資範圍是多少？）；想說期待薪資，就用 Based on my experience, I'm hoping for around…（依我的經驗，我希望大約…）。

  說I'm a little flexible on salary if there are good chances to learn and grow.

  台灣多半談月薪，所以說 …a month。福利是 benefits，年終獎金是 year-end bonus，特休是 annual leave，勞健保是 labor and health insurance。

面試後的感謝信和追蹤怎麼寫？

面試後寄一封簡短的感謝信，第一句寫 Thank you for taking the time to meet with me today.（謝謝您今天抽空和我面談）；過了一段時間還沒消息，就用 I just wanted to follow up on my interview…（我想問一下面試的結果）客氣地問。

  Thank you for 後面接 -ing：taking。follow up on 是有禮貌的追蹤；Did you forget me? 這種問法聽起來像在怪對方。

接到錄取通知怎麼回？

公司說 We'd like to offer you the position.（我們想錄取你），要接受就說 I'm happy to accept your offer.；想考慮幾天，可以問 Could I have a few days to think it over?。

  我們想錄取你擔任這個職位。

  回答範例

  說Thank you so much! I'm happy to accept your offer. When would you like me to start?

  非常感謝！我很樂意接受錄取。您希望我什麼時候開始上班？

  可以給我幾天時間考慮一下嗎？

  說After careful thought, I've decided to decline your offer.

  經過仔細考慮，我決定婉拒這次的錄取。

  說I've accepted another position, but I really appreciate your time.

  我已經接受了另一個職位，但真的很感謝您花的時間。

  offer 當名詞是「錄取通知」：accept the offer 是接受，decline the offer 是婉拒。After careful thought（經過仔細考慮）讓婉拒聽起來有禮貌。

常見問題

英文面試被要求自我介紹，要說什麼？

照「過去、現在、為什麼來」說，一分鐘左右就好：先說學歷或經驗（I graduated from… / I majored in…），再說目前的工作（Right now I work as…），最後說你為什麼來應徵（That's why I'm very interested in this opportunity.）。

「我最大的優點」英文怎麼說？

說 My greatest strength is that…，例如 My greatest strength is that I'm very organized, so I rarely miss a deadline.（我最大的優點是很有條理，所以我很少錯過截止日）。後面加上這個優點帶來的好處，會比只說一個形容詞有說服力。

英文面試怎麼客氣地問薪水？

說 Could you tell me the salary range for this position?（請問這個職位的薪資範圍是多少？）。不要說 How much money you give me?；想提出期待薪資，可以說 Based on my experience, I'm hoping for around…。

面試官問 Do you have any questions for us?，可以說沒有嗎？

最好不要只說 No.，準備一兩個問題比較好，例如 What does a typical day look like for this position?。真的沒有問題，就說 I think you've answered all my questions.。
